Experience
Elizabeth A. Schleuning has chaired Schwabe Williamson
& Wyatt's Labor and Employment Group since 2002.
Ms. Schleuning has over 20 years experience litigating
a wide variety of employment claims throughout Oregon
and Washington. She has successfully tried multi-million
dollar cases to verdict for both national and local
clients.
Ms. Schleuning's litigation practice includes discrimination
cases, as well as litigation relating to non-competition,
non-solicitation and non-disclosure agreements. She
has also handles wage and hour class action lawsuits,
both as lead counsel and local counsel for a variety
of industries, including retail and banking.
Outside
of the courtroom, she enjoys providing practical risk
management advice to her clients on issues involving
their work force. Her greatest professional satisfaction
comes from helping her clients successfully take the
steps to avoid litigation in the first place.

& Community Activities
Elizabeth A. Schleuning is a member of the Oregon and Washington State Bar Associations. She is also a member of the Oregon Association of Defense Counsel.
Ms. Schleuning writes and speaks extensively on the
topic of risk management issues faced by employers.
She also authored a chapter in Labor Law Best Practices
published in 2005 by Aspatore Books, and is a
co-author of The Oregon Human Resources Manual 2008
published by Associated Oregon Industries.

Interests
Interested in Pacific Rim countries, Elizabeth A. Schleuning
was the recipient of a year long grant in 1989 to travel
to China to study alternative dispute resolution. An
avid traveler, Ms. Schleuning has camped across Africa
and has crossed the main chain of the Himalayas on foot.
